Mauritius

BEAUTY • CULTURE • CUISINE

Mark Twain once wrote that “Mauritius was made first and then heaven, heaven being copied after Mauritius.”

Located 2,000 miles off of the southeast coast of Africa, this small island is the definition of paradise. Miles of white sandy beaches hug clear blue and turquoise waters, perfect for a snooze on a beach lounge, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming with dolphins. Tropical flowers pop through verdant greenery, and lush forests compete with dramatic peaks.

For those who prefer a bit more adventure, Black River Gorges National Park is a gorgeous verdant forest dotted with mountain peaks, lookout points, and waterfalls. The park is home to over 60 km of hiking trails ranging from easy to more strenuous. It is home to several rare endemic birds including the Echo Parakeet, Pink Pigeon, and Mauritius Kestral. There are over 300 pieces of plants and animals.

With a mix of Indian, Chinese, European, and African cultures, Mauritius offers an eclectic mix of traditions and wonderfully delicious gourmet fare.

Mauritius is the perfect destination to unwind, disconnect, and become completely immersed in beauty, nature, adventure, romance, and really great food.
